3 Things That Make a Neighborhood Safe

Do you know what to look for when choosing a neighborhood that is safe for you and your family? If not, there’s no need to worry. We’ve got you covered. Here are 3 things that help to keep a neighborhood safe.

1. Engaged Community

Neighbors who regularly talk to each other and aren’t afraid to jump in and help each other out speak to the quality of a neighborhood. Look for signs that the residents of the neighborhood you’re looking to move into are engaged. Are their community celebrations? Do the neighbors seem to know each other?

2. Neighborhood Watch

This goes along with #1. Having a community looking out for one another makes a community safer.

3. Upkeep

A well kept neighborhood has been proven to have less crime. Pay attention to the upkeep of the yards. Take note of empty lots and overgrown foliage. You’re looking for a neighborhood that you can relax in as you walk your dog or go on an evening bike ride.

Which one of these tips do you find the most helpful? Let us know in the comments!
